Do You Know Your Podcasting History? | A Brief Lesson to celebrate @intlpodcastday

There is an unwritten rule when it comes to podcasting that has held true from the moment I first put on a pair of headphones to this very day.  Do you want me to tell you what this tremendously awesome secrete is??

Ok… here it is…

In the world of Podcasting… you are guaranteed to LEARN SOMETHING!

Yes, that is a very true statement. For the last 4 years, I have been creating podcasts and with each passing episode, I have been honored to feature some pretty amazing guests on my podcast.  (you know who you are 😉 )

This past week, I had the pleasure of welcoming podcasters Steve and David Lee from NetCast Studios onto my first episode of Educational Podcasting Today. While I was checking out their website that supports the upcoming International Podcast Day, I stumbled upon an amazing resource called the Podcasting Historical Timeline.

Did you know that Podcasting got its start in 2004 by Adam Curry (yeah the MTV guy) and Dave Winer! Or, How about the fact that the word Podcast officially was entered into the New Oxford American Dictionary in 2005 and was declared Word of the Year!

There are tons of great facts over on the Podcasters Timeline site on the International Podcast Day website.  Check it out today and see what Podcasting Factoids you can pick up.
