Jo is the owner and facilitator of a number of virtual worlds and gaming spaces with a focus on learning, including Massively@jokaydia – a Minecraft server for kids and parents. Massively@jokaydia has been running for more than 5 years, and is a Guild based learning community for kids aged 4-16 years who are interested in developing digital media skills, exploring their creativity and developing online social skills by playing games. More than 1800 kids from Australia, the US, the UK, New Zealand and beyond are members of the guild and play together on a whitelisted Minecraft server which comprises 7 main maps and thousands of amazing creations. As well as collaborating and communicating in Minecraft, guild members engage with via a website which provides forums, journal spaces and a project based learning oriented awards system. Trish Cloud – teaches Technology to K-5 students at Grand Oak Elementary in North Carolina. She was an early adopter of the game in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system and has seen the game spread across the district with their support. She’s been using Minecraft Edu in her both her current school and previous school for the past 6 years as an afterschool club and in specialized projects across grade levels. Teachers at her school have adopted using PE Minecraft for student projects in their personalized learning playlists and pathways. Diane Main serves as Director of Learning, Innovation and Design (9-12) at The Harker School in San Jose, California. She is also adjunct faculty for San Diego State University's Learning Design and Technology department and MERIT/KCI faculty at Krause Center for Innovation and Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California. She is the former Program Director of the MERIT program at KCI, and is a Google for Education Certified Innovator.
