Learn How To Make a Muppet-Style Puppet By @SamPatue

This video explains how to create a simple muppet-style puppet. With hot glue and a needle and thread, anyone can build their own puppet. This video was created as a resource for a workshop on Design Thinking in Elementary education at SXSWEdu 2017.

How Do I Get Started?

  • 1/2 a yard of Fleece
  • 9″x12″ Black Felt
  • Pattern from bit.ly/puppetpattern
  • 9″ x 12″ Cardboard
  • Hot Glue
  • Sewing Machine (you can hand sew also)

For the past 4 years, I have used these puppets in my classroom and with my kids. I encourage you to look at the role Puppets can play in your classroom.

Here is a piece I wrote for Edutopia about how awesome puppets are in the classroom.

Coming soon to the Beyond the Hour of Code podcast: Design Thinking with Puppets

Also we are presenting this at #SXSWEDU
