This video explains how to create a simple muppet-style puppet. With hot glue and a needle and thread, anyone can build their own puppet. This video was created as a resource for a workshop on Design Thinking in Elementary education at SXSWEdu 2017.
How Do I Get Started?
- 1/2 a yard of Fleece
- 9″x12″ Black Felt
- Pattern from bit.ly/puppetpattern
- 9″ x 12″ Cardboard
- Hot Glue
- Sewing Machine (you can hand sew also)
For the past 4 years, I have used these puppets in my classroom and with my kids. I encourage you to look at the role Puppets can play in your classroom.
Here is a piece I wrote for Edutopia about how awesome puppets are in the classroom.
