Back in January, we set out to make a unified location for education news and a useful resource for any educator curious about how to prepare students of today for the world of tomorrow. And though we still have plenty of growing to do, we’ve already been humbled by the wealth of information and expertise shared with us by educators so far.
In celebration of your contributions and unstoppable drive to do the best for your students, we’ve rounded up 10 great educator guides from the last year – all written with the help of teachers and experts who use a variety of tools in their own classrooms. Read on for help on staying productive, planning lessons, assessing students, creating global learning projects, adapting for learning differences, and even designing games.

How to create both simple and complex equations through voice, ink, and thought.
How to create detailed lessons in EquatIO that can be copied into Docs, Slides, Sites, and Office applications
How to engage your students by having your students create drawings and animations using Desmos’s powerful graphic engine.

Why is this news Awesome?

Texthelp has integrated Desmos’s graphing calculator into EquatIO
Desmos’s best-in-class HTML5 graphing calculator is used by millions of students around the world to help them experience all the curiosity, beauty, and sense that math has to offer
Desmos imagines a world of universal math literacy where math is accessible and enjoyable for all students
EquatIO, Texthelp’s award-winning STEM tool, makes it easy for students and teachers to create equations, formulas and other mathematical expressions digitally
Much more than a replacement for pen and paper, EquatIO makes math and STEM subjects more accessible in today’s classrooms, meeting the unique needs of all learners
With the addition of Desmos’s API, EquatIO users can now add graphing to its growing list of capabilities
The integration with Desmos enables EquatIO to become a one-stop-shop for making math and other STEM subjects digital

3 Ways to Use:

From a Teacher standpoint (i.e. building a graph with a corresponding question to be shared through EquatIO mathspace)
From a Student standpoint (i.e. using prediction to build out graphs based on a teacher question received through EquatIO mathspace)
Using desmos graphs to visualize a concept that then students can explore on their own in their EquatIO mathspace

This by far was one of my favorite broadcasting sessions, mostly because Michael and Mary Jo were so easy to work with and they are both brilliant educators.
A few weeks ago I was contacted by Michael Winters, Product Manager at EdSurge to be a guest on their new (and awesome) podcast.  They were putting together a show about podcasting and trends for the next year and after only a few moments together, I knew we had great chemistry together.
If you haven't checked out EdSurge, I highly recommend that you do.  They not only are producing a great podcasting series, but also offer fantastic educational summits across the country.

Growing up, I had always wanted to be just like George Lucas. I wanted to do something special and be able to help inspire millions of people across the world.  When I learned that Mr. Lucas not only had a passion for for Wookies and Ewoks, but also had a passion for education, my admiration for him grew so much that I decided to take my own adventure and follow in his footsteps and such…. TeacherCast was conceived.
This year at ISTE 2015, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Elana Leoni from Edutopia to discuss Mr Lucas's vision for the future of education and together with Hadley Ferguson and Mary Beth Hertz, we discuss how Edutopia and the Edcamp Foundation are empowering students and teachers to create greatness in classrooms all around the world.

MAD-Learn from Crescerance is simply the BEST platform for school districts and students to create mobile apps.
MAD-Learn stands for Mobile Apple Development and frankly, you will be MAD not to check it out.  In fact, if you were one of the lucky ones at ISTE this year, you might have been handed a token worth a FREE class set for their awesome app development system.
What Can You Design using MAD-Learn?
One of the big announcements that came out of ISTE this year was the launching of my second mobile app called Educational Podcasting Today.  This amazing new app is designed exclusively using MAD-Learn.  If you are interested in learning more about Podcasting or WordPress then you should check out EPT in the app store of your choice.
