About Our Guest

You may recall Jerell Blakeley from episode 3: are your students civically minded? A passionate believer in the power of education, Jerell is a graduate of The Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University: New Brunswick, where he earned an Ed.M. in the Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education as an Martin-Eagleton Fellow of Politics and Government. He received his teacher's certification from the Center for Effective School Practices at the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. He also is a Fellow of the New Leaders Council-New Jersey.

Jerell serves on the boards of The Children Home Society of NJ and the Mercer County Board of Social Services. Jerell is currently Campaign Organizer of Healthy Schools Now coalition at the NJ Work Environment Council (WEC). Prior to joining WEC, Jerell was a social studies teacher in the Trenton Public Schools.
