How To Quickly Create Dual Monitors In @MicrosoftEDU Windows
If you are like many teachers around the world, you may have a PC connected to an interactive projector in the front of your classroom. For many, your PC is mirrored onto your interactive board and you might never think about the possibilities you have if you adjust your settings slightly to a dual monitor setup.
Don't worry about things being difficult or this dual monitor process taking up several valuable teaching moments, in fact, the dual monitor process is quick easy and only takes a few simple clicks of your keyboard.
How To Change Your Display Settings
WINDOWS 7 SETTINGS
- Close all open programs.
- Hold down the Windows logo key and press the P key on your keyboard.
Select one of the following options:- Computer only: This setting will show the screen image only on your laptop monitor.
- Duplicate: This setting will duplicate your laptop screen image on both monitors based on the monitor with the lower resolution.
- Extend: This setting allows you to move a window from one monitor to the other by clicking the Title Bar of the window and dragging the window to a new location.
- Projector only: This setting is typically chosen when your laptop is used as a desktop computer, so you can enjoy the higher resolution of a large external monitor
WINDOWS 10 SETTINGS
Close all open programs.
- Hold down the Windows key and press the P key on your keyboard.
- Select one of the following display style options:
- PC Screen Only
- Duplicate
- Extend
- Second Screen Only
