6 Cutting Edge EdTech Companies to Keep An Eye Out For This Year at the ISTE Conference!
Are you excited about the ISTE Conference?
I love this time of year because for one week out of the year, 20,000 educators come from across the country to celebrate the great things that happen in our schools. This year, I had the opportunity to work with so many great educational technology companies on the podcast and I'm excited to have the opportunity to walk the vendor floor and meet everyone to say THANK YOU for being a part of the TeacherCast podcasting family.
The problem always comes up … what booths do I go to? With literally hundreds of vendors to check out and so much eye candy to choose from it's quite difficult to hit everyone.
Today, we are going to be looking at a few of my favorite Educational Technology Companies that I have had the opportunity to get to know over the last year and I hope you have time to stop by their booths and if you do … tell them TeacherCast sent you!
Microsoft Education – Booth 2900
The biggest party at ISTE this year will be happening at the Microsoft Education booth where you will find everything you need to create the perfect digital classroom for your students next year. This year, I'm excited to check out the new features that were recently announced for Microsoft Teams and some pretty awesome new additions to PowerPoint. Don't forget to stop by and ask a Microsoft Innovative Educator how to become an official #MIEExpert … applications are closing on July 15!
ThinkWrite – Booth 1251
This year, TeacherCast and ThinkWrite are partnering up to provide FREE Podcasting headsets during my podcasting workshops. I'm extremely excited for this opportunity because it will give so many teachers the opportunity to introduce podcasts and educational podcasting into their classrooms this year. ThinkWrite is a fantastic company who provides great quality products to school districts. Check them out at the booth this week or better yet … stop by one of my sessions and win yourself a free pair to take home!
Soundtrap – Booth 2153
Soundtrap, a Spotify company, is the first cloud-based audio recording platform to work across all operating systems, enabling users to co-create music and podcasts anywhere in the world. They’ve recently launched the brand new Soundtrap for Storytellers, a one-stop shop for high-quality podcast creation, with interactive transcript and remote interviews. For those attending ISTE this year, and those who can’t make it, Soundtrap has you covered ― they will be producing the “Best of ISTE” podcast live on site featuring interviews with leading edtech presenters, educators and creators. Shmoop – Booth 554
Shmoop, the award-winning digital publisher providing comprehensive test prep resources and certified online courses used by 16 million teachers and students every month, will bring their unique voice to the ISTE exhibit hall. Visit their booth to learn how you can get a classroom, school or district license to their full library of content, including 10,000 videos and full courses that are viewed more than 55 million times monthly. They’re also hosting a happy hour event at Maggiano’s Monday evening, with food and cocktails, so if you’re a leader interesting in improving curriculum and test prep in your district, RSVP here.
Curriculum Associates – Booth 1808
For 50 years, Curriculum Associates (CA) has been united around one common purpose: to make classrooms better places for teachers and students. In the years since, they've remained driven by this mission, introducing and then constantly improving innovative and exciting products that give every student the chance to succeed. Visit CA’s booth to learn about their research-based print and online instructional materials, screens and assessments, and data management tools, including i-Ready and Ready Classroom Mathematics.
MERGE – Booth 2746
MERGE develops award-winning augmented and virtual reality products that enable experiential learning and content creation at home, in the classroom and in the workplace. My advice is to get to this booth early. There is going to be quite a buzz around this new and cutting edge technology.
